Star Farm was one of our favorite stays! As a fellow host, I could really appreciate how much thought and care Doug put into creating this place and making sure guests have a great experience. From the custom decor to the thoughtful amenities, including a telescope for stargazing, there were so many little touches that made the stay special. We also had a chance to meet Doug and check out some of his other projects, which we're excited to see come to life. We'd love to come back!

One of the best Airbnbs we’ve ever stayed at! We really appreciated all the thoughtful little details Doug put into the place. It was the perfect getaway for us as a couple. We left feeling refreshed and recharged, and we’ll definitely be back!

Doug is a great host and is super responsive. The location of this place can’t be beat. You feel like you are out in the country, but you are 5 minutes to the bridge and to restaurants and hikes. We also appreciated the attention to detail Doug added in the space. It is really lovely with high quality furnishings. Checking in and out are super easy and contactless. My husband and I booked it for our anniversary and it was the perfect romantic setting for us. The deck and the fire pit add a lovely outdoor living space. This place is awesome.

Loved, loved, loved our stay at Star Farm. The accommodations were lovely and well thought out. Bed was comfy. Doug was amazing to work with and always available if we needed anything. Would stay there again!

My wife and I just celebrated our anniversary in New River Gorge and the AFrame cabin The cabin is perfect, and the host is responsive, thoughtful, and outgoing to make sure guests feel welcome and at home away from home. We enjoyed a fire to the first night, but had some weather the next night and just enjoyed the sitting area playing cards on the beautiful table. Everything in the cabin just worked and that helped us focus on our experience and the beautiful location we were at. Would not hesitate to recommend a stay at Star Farm!!!

Douglas’s A Frame cabin was a dream! The stay was perfect and everything we wanted! Clean, easy and beautiful! The fire pit and looking up at all the stars was the perfect way to end our nights. This spot is so close to all the great things around the town from white water rafting, the new river gorge bridge, and amazing spots to eat/drink! We can’t wait to come back and try the Dome!

Place was immaculate and so well appointed. Beautiful touches that made you feel at home. Outdoor space is great unfortunately we had rain but that didn’t stop us from spending some time outside. Douglas brought a telescope but again the sky was not cooperating with us. Enjoyed a cozy night in a comfortable bed. Shower was great with great water pressure. Can’t wait to return, looks like great things are happening here at Star Farm. See you next year!

There was a lot of thoughtful intent involved with the furnishings and small details that made our stay comfortable.

Everything about this place is thoughtfully designed down to the smallest detail. Everything is high-quality, tasteful, and feels like it was made with the same care you would put into your own home. The cabin has everything you could possibly need for a cozy stay — chess, cards, other board games, a beautiful wine decanter, delicious coffee, lovely teas, and even a book filled with recommendations for the area. And Douglas is truly the best host we’ve ever had. You can feel how much thought and care he puts into creating a wonderful experience for his guests. We absolutely loved our stay and would happily come back again!

There is no better place to stay in the area. The location is amazing and the property and cathedral cabin were so beautiful & peaceful. The cabin is so thoughtfully designed and feels so spacious. The back deck is fantastic for lounging, reading, eating meals and watching the deer that come to visit. I feel truly lucky to have found this place and cannot wait to return. Amazing and attentive host and the property felt safe and secure, and for a solo traveler that meant everything.

Had a very enjoyable 3 night stay at the Star Farm. We hiked and took in the local sights. The farm is very convenient to all the major activities which made return visits to freshen up a breeze. We enjoyed meeting Doug and getting a behind the scenes tour of his other projects in progress. Looking forward to another stay down the road. We absolutely loved our stay at Star Farm! You can really tell they put a lot of love and thought into everything. There were so many little touches that made the stay feel extra special. From the cozy blankets and beautifully scented soaps and lotion to the Nespresso machine and all the thoughtful extras, it felt like they had truly thought of everything. Everything was high quality, beautiful, and very well done. More than anything, we loved the peaceful, cozy, relaxing feel of the whole place. It was the perfect spot to slow down and enjoy our time together. Honestly, nothing else in this area compares. We would definitely stay here again.

My husband and I stayed in the Cathedral Cabin at Star Farm in Fayetteville for a quick 2-night getaway. The A-frame is unique...with a large picture window that looks out over the meadow and woods. There is a nice deck with seating. We were hoping to see the Perseid Meteor shower, but it was too cloudy. The king bed was very comfortable and the shower was amazing, especially after getting soaked during a hike at New River Gorge National Park. Doug has something really special here with two more cabin options coming soon. I am looking forward to the geodesic dome! Definitely give this lodging a try.

Absolutely stunning A-frame. The amount of craftsmanship and attention to detail in every facet of the cabin is impossible to ignore. Very reasonably priced too. Had everything we wanted in a vacation cabin and more. A true gem in the Fayetteville/Oak Hill area. The host is very responsive and cordial.

Highly recommended, great host, beautiful cabin inside and out .. resides close to Fayetteville and area attractions. We will be back again for sure!

For anyone looking a great retreat to a private get away with top tier amenities we so enjoyed at the cathedral cabin. We found the farm full of wildlife and peace. The cabin offers such top of the line amenities and decorative touches, u will find yourself relaxed and never wanting to leave this getaway .. the bedding perfect and the shower or bath area is 5 star quality along with everything in this cabin. The deck offers such a great view and relaxing lounge seats. The cabin resides so close to any attraction desired in the river and Fayette county area. We will be back on the future!

Star Farms is a true gem. As avid travelers, we’ve stayed an at many Airbnbs and even more hotels. This cabin is more like a luxury hotel suite in the remoteness of beautiful West Virginia. The photos are true to what you see. Wonderful attention to detail in every touch. Our favorites were the soaking tub, floor to ceiling windows, and dozen deer we spotted on the property. The cabin we stayed at very comfortably accommodated us both. The kitchen is not meant for cooking meals, but had everything we needed to clean up what we brought in. The location is also far from any noise, but also not too far from all the hiking and activities Fayetteville has to offer. Highly recommend!!

The location is good—close to restaurants and Walmart, yet quiet and peaceful. We would would be happy to stay here again.

Absolutely immaculate and thoughtfully designed. This AirBnb is absolutely true to the photos. Staying here is more like staying in a highly luxurious hotel suite with a drop dead gorgeous view that fills the floor to ceiling. We had a wonderful stay. Doug was extremely responsive and helpful. This was a last-minute change for my daughter and I on a road trip and I am so glad we stumbled upon this. I would come back in a heartbeat, but next time stay much longer! The bathroom is like a mini spa and the soaking tub is a stand out for sure. The kitchen has what you need for takeout meals, and coffee. Just be sure to be aware it is not intended for cooking. There is a clean and large mini fridge for things you might have to store, however. Ample closet space for your belongings as well. Highly recommend.

We had a wonderful stay at this gorgeous A frame cabin! The property was beautiful, peaceful, and exactly what we were looking for. The owner was fantastic very communicative, friendly, and made the entire experience easy from start to finish. My husband and I enjoyed Fayetteville for a long weekend. Douglas’s cabin was the perfect addition to the trip. The cabin was cozy and everything in the cabin was well thought out. We would definitely stay there again!

My family and I had a wonderful stay at this home. We roasted s’mores by the firepit and caught lightening bugs in the backyard. The inside of the house had all the luxury amenities and was so clean. Beds were very comfortable. We would definitely stay here again.

Star Farm is more than a beautiful place to stay—it’s a place to reconnect with nature, recharge, and experience one of West Virginia’s most beautiful landscapes. It feels light years removed from the chaos but is close to everything. The location can’t be beat and the attention to detail is off the charts. This is truly a special place. The sight of fireflies dancing in the meadow is one of those moments i’ll remember long after i’ve returned home.

This place is a collection of tiny houses. It's still under construction, but the unit we stayed was complete, new, and very nice!

This cabin is in a fantastic spot - peaceful quiet surroundings but also within a quick drive to Fayetteville (cute stores and restaurants), Walmart (for late night groceries and supplies) and NWR National Park (spectacular scenery and hikes)! The cabin itself was well stocked with high-end amenities, featured beautiful lighting and design, and offered a peaceful cozy atmosphere. Doug was also very friendly and responsive. Will definitely look to stay here (or in one of the surrounding units in progress) next time we are in the area!

The location is perfectly located near New River Gorge NP & the NR bridge & Fayetteville is a cute town! This new cabin was the perfect central location for our 6 nights exploring the New River Gorge National Park area and Babcock State Park. The deer out back were enjoyable to watch every morning and night! Doug was always available for any questions that came up. We wish them luck with the 3 cabins total they will have available in the future! This was a perfect vacation! Highly recommend this cabin and will be back again !

What a great place. We just finished a 4-night stay and enjoyed everything about it. I highly recommend this wonderful ‘Cabin’. It is really much more than a cabin: perfect size, location and furnishings. The serenity of the location was perfect for us because we enjoy the peace and quiet. The only visitors were the daily herd of deer who came by early in the morning and at dusk. The location, 5 miles from the New River Gorge National Park, was perfect for hiking, exploring and taking the Bridge Walk. Doug is very responsive to any requests. Multiple restaurants are located nearby; we enjoyed both Fire Creek BBQ and Pies and Pints. Book this place for your outdoor adventure!

Fantastic place to stay in Fayetteville close to local restaurants and popular trails. Peaceful evenings on the deck. The pictures of the property are spot on, will stay again if in the area.

My wife and I really enjoyed staying here. The location to hiking trails, restaurants everything was very close. Our evening had wild visitor's with multiple deer out back in the grass field foraging was awesome. The property itself was modern, clean,peaceful. We will definitely request a stay again if we visit the area.

Between the chill vibe, the stunning farm to just sitting out under the stars, we couldn't have asked for a better weekend. Our kids had a blast and didn't want to leave. Beautiful, new, modern A Frame. The perfect place to come relax in the evenings after hiking. Great soaker tub and large shower. We enjoyed the view of the meadow with deer at dusk and dawn.

The Airbnb is located close to the entrance for the New River Gorge National Park and Fayetteville, which is a wonderful little town town to visit. There is also a shopping center nearby if you need it. However the cabin is located off a quiet road away from the hubbub. The amenities and style are very modern. Overall it’s a nice, comfortable hotel lace to return to after hiking, rafting or simply walking through the town.

We had a wonderful weekday stay at Star Farm! Its location is incredible! Just a short drive away from so many local hikes, overlooks and great food! The home itself was exceptionally clean too. You can feel how much love and care goes into this property! During our stay we saw some fireflies and the start of a meteor shower. Highly recommend!

Absolutely gorgeous place. Easy to get to everything in Fayetteville and the bridge is just down the road. The cabin is beautiful and private. This is hands down the best place to stay in the New River Gorge!

This A- frame is top notch and has every amenity top of the line. The surroundings are very peaceful with close proximity to the national park. douglas is a phenomenal host and went above and beyond to make us ( especially the kids) comfortable. He even bought a new pack n play prior to our arrival and left toys for the kids to play with. the night view is phenomenal through the full glass from the A-frame. It was an amazing stay for us and we highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the new river gorge.

We've just returned from a lovely stay at Star Farm. This is such a beautiful place to soothe your soul. The first night there I laid down on the deck furniture and admired the star-filled sky for quite some time. It was so peaceful to watch the stars and just let my mind wonder at the beauty of God's creation. Doug provides a telescope for your use to view the night sky. Next morning we were greeted by deer playing chase with one another in the field. Doug has such a beautiful place here and we highly recommend staying here on your next visit to WV. There's a nice deck and eating area outside. The bed is very comfortable and it's such a lovely place to stay and relax from the cares of the outside world. We will definitely stay here the next time we're in WV.

We had an amazing stay at Cathedral cabin. We enjoyed watching deer from the bed in the mornings, and soaking in the tub in the evenings. We spent a lot of time on the deck and it was so relaxing listening to many birds and the spring frogs. Our daughter enjoyed having so much space outside to run and play. So much attention to detail was put into this place. We especially enjoyed the luxury espresso and teas. The location is perfect. Minutes away from the best local restaurants and trails. We got a chance to meet Doug, and he was so kind and hospitable. Definitely recommend, and hoping to return!

We had the best stay at this adorable little Airbnb! From the moment we walked in, we were blown away by how stunning and spotless everything was. The space was beautifully put together, so cozy, and in the most gorgeous location — it truly felt like the perfect little getaway. The location couldn’t have been better. It was so close to the parks and great food spots, which made everything easy and convenient. After a long day of hiking, coming back and soaking in the bath was absolutely amazing — exactly what we needed to relax and unwind. The host was incredible and communicated so well the entire time, making everything seamless and stress-free. You can truly tell they care about their guests and the experience they provide. Okay so this place is actually unreal. We watched deer from bed. FROM BED. The tub is massive, the sheets are incredible, and the views out those big windows somehow look exactly like the pictures. Five minutes to the park, five minutes to grab coffee in town. We're already planning to come back.

We just got back from our stay. The cabin was beautiful. It was just like described. It’s away from the highway and tucked back in the woods. The bed had great Egyptian cotton sheets and slept very well. There was complementary coffee and the honey sticks were a fabulous touch. The deep soak tub was a treat. We spent the evening by the fire pit outside. We can’t wait to book again for a weekend get away.

This was the most absolute best place to stay. They were wonderful communicators have the best hospitality that I ever ran across. And just wonderful people in general I would recommend this place 100 times over. I can’t wait to stay there again. I mean they were awesome. Great wonderful everything that you can imagine in one. The place was very clean. Very neat. I felt at home. It was very relaxing. It was just everything that you can imagine. I would never stay anywhere else in this area but on one of his properties and I’m looking forward to staying until the next property this summer. He gets 100 star.

Great cabin and an excellent location. The cabin was clean, comfortable, and well maintained, with a nice layout that made it easy to relax. It felt private and quiet, but was still very close to New River Gorge, which made getting to trails, overlooks, and town quick and easy. Check-in was smooth and communication was clear. Overall a great stay and I would definitely recommend it.

Just came back from a wonderful stay at Star Farm. We stayed in the new cabin. The view was beautiful, the bed was comfortable, and the bathtub was perfect! The cabin is close to town, but once you arrive at the property, it's like you're secluded in the woods. We can't wait to come back in the fall to see the beautiful fall leaves.

We came for hiking and exploring the New River Gorge and this was the perfect base. Five minutes to everything, but once you’re at the cabin it feels like you’re out in the middle of nowhere in the best way. After long days outside, the deep tub and hot shower were exactly what we needed. The place is super clean, the bed is great, and the deck + fire pit made nights awesome.

This is literally the best stay in Fayetteville and the whole New River Gorge area. It blows everything else out of the water. The cabin is beautiful and feels brand new, super clean, and actually private. The giant windows looking out over the meadow are unreal, we watched deer grazing in the evening and had coffee on the deck in the morning. At night, the stars were insane. The bathroom is a standout too. The tub is deep, the shower pressure is great, and everything feels thoughtfully set up. The bed was super comfortable, Wi-Fi was fast, and check-in was easy with parking right at the cabin. If you’re coming to the Gorge, just book this.
